Social Studies
In this course your child will learn:
- Government: Topics include the nature, structure and functioning of government in society, the role of special interest groups and individuals in government, the electoral process, role of political parties, campaigns, and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship in a democratic society as well as other topics geared toward student interest
- History: Significant emphasis will be placed on the everyday lives, problems, and various accomplishments of ancient civilizations as well as their role in developing social, economic, and political structures, which connect the ancient and contemporary worlds.
