DUE TO COVID 19, all our classes are running online!
Challenge is a Part of Learning.
Students at IC Learning Center are bright, ambitious peers who want to put their academic weaknesses to the test. Some of our students are wonderful in English, but lack strength in math. Other students may be good in both subjects, yet struggle with writing essays. Whatever it may be, IC Learning Center has a team of professional teachers and tutors that can provide support in the essential subjects (English, Math, and Science).
Here at IC Learning Center, our team listens to you. What does your child need help with? What can we recommend? Our center is unique in that we provide individual, specialized care regarding educational and behavioral purposes. If your child requires IEP, or an individualized education program, you’ve come to the right place. Our facility is rooted in providing individual care — it’s what IC stands for!
One way we show attentive care is in our classroom structure. Our company believes in the power of using small groups for big learning benefits. Small-group learning has been proven to be beneficial in class settings because it inspires confidence, teaches patients, improves team-work skills, and allows for flexibility in education.
If there is a classroom filled with fifteen or even twenty students, there may be a few students that are ahead of the learning curve, a few average learners, and a few students who are behind. This leads to frustration and confusion for both teachers and students. But working in small groups is like working with a personal tutor. No matter where your child’s learning may be,
you can rest assured that our small classes will provide opportunities to meet every student’s demand. We like to think of this as small group tutoring since each child receives one-on-one care.
Despite our small classes, our facility operates on a large scale. We keep track of our student’s progression and take time to recognize the center’s demands. In early 2019, for example, IC Learning Center recognized a problem: our students were struggling with poetry at their public school. So what did we do? We worked with our English teachers to construct a thorough, explorative, and rigorous summer course on Poetry and Poetic Devices for both elementary and middle schoolers. By the end of the twelve lesson course, our students were not only well-read in the last two-hundred years of poetry, but were able to write a poem using a minimum of eight poetic devices.
What other tutoring centers can say they did that?
Or in 2020, as the troubling COVID19 situation continues to unfold around the globe, our facility made quick and necessary adjustments in order to continue teaching our students remotely. From home, students are able to continue their education throughout this period of self-isolation thanks to our team’s dedicated commitment to flexible learning and individual care.
Our mission is to serve our student’s needs and push them to work out of their comfort zone. We are apart from other academic environments in that we challenge students to consider ideas beyond the school setting. We want our students to explore their cultural backgrounds and celebrate it in their creative writing assignments. We want our students to learn how a fairytale is broken down and why walking is good for their health. We want our students to research subjects they’re passionate about — whether it be videogames or ballet dance — and come to class prepared to debate the ethics.
Whatever the interest is, our team is ready to handle it. We guarantee your child will grow and blossom.
